Tahoe Rim Trail

The Tahoe Rim Trail, or TRT, circumnavigates Lake Tahoe. The trail doesn't follow the lake's shoreline, but instead traverses the mountainous rim surrounding the lake. The trail is about 173 miles long with over 28,000' of elevation gain.

I thru-hiked the TRT September 3-12, 2016. Most people hike the trail clockwise, but I went counterclockwise. I started late Saturday of Labor Day weekend at the South Kingsbury trailhead near South Lake Tahoe and finished on a Monday afternoon. I resupplied in Tahoe City which was very close to the midpoint of the hike.
